The passing of a friend

Posted on Feb 7th, 2008 by Alan : The Non-Drinker Alan
It is strange how a death can make you think so much about your own life ,all the choices that you have made over the length of it and all the  ?????? that come up....... I am I doing what I want?... Is this the right environment to help me?........Is there something I should be doing about this or that?........

I learned about Mikes death last night from The GODZ  web site (a band from Ohio) I visited. I was poking around and remembered about how Mike was a huge fan a of the the band and I thought I would see if he was a member of the site.  When I typed in his name a link appeared regarding a benefit show for Mike. I clicked on the site and was floored..............That is how the news came to me.

Now I met Mike when we were working in the same Pizza place in Rocky River,Ohio. He was a great and fun loving person. He loved his Charger, His Harley, His guitar and Rock n' Roll.  I knew him for about 4yrs but lost touch about 1989 when I moved. But I never forgot Him........

Since I had not had any contact with Mike for so many years I did not know how to feel really because about a 2 yrs ago a school buddy  Tom died . I lost touch with him also about the same time as Mike  and I did not take it so hard. Tom was a person who I saw almost everyday for about 6 yrs and hung out with all the time I was very confused. So I picked up my guitar and started to play........... I guess it comes down to how we remember people I have some good memiories of Tom and a lot of sad ones too. But I only have fond memories of Mike And there is the difference.................I think we tend to remember how we choose...........I ,now,  choose to remember only the good times with both my old friends

PEACE,      MIKE  &  TOM  gone but never forgotten

Do you pay much attention to what others think of you?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 06, 2007:

I try not to pay much attention to others opinions about me, because it is only how they see me and not how I see myself. Although I do feel sometimes they do not understand or want to understand what I am all about........
